The LTO Should Read This: Car Modification for Dummies
Okay, so the LTO has finally clarified that all modifications prejudicial to road and environmental safety, including rim sizes, is subject to Department Order 2010-32. We won’t waste our time posting a selfie video of ourselves doing an interview, but instead we just decided to bust up some myths which can probably help the LTO in coming up with some proper guidelines.
LTO Just Made Modifying Your Vehicle a Lot Harder
The LTO, various off-road clubs, and 4x4 enthusiasts held a dialogue to flesh out what the government agency calls the “arbitrary and subjectively apprehending of modified vehicles.” To this end, the LTO clarifies that they are not arbitrarily and subjectively apprehending owners of modified vehicles. However, this will not stop them from implementing an existing law.

Non-Euro 4 Vehicles Get New Registration Reprieve
Buyers in the market for a new non-Euro 4 emissions compliant vehicle just got a bit of a reprieve. After the DENR set a December 31, 2017 deadline for the initial (new) registration of non-Euro 4 compliant vehicles, the LTO has issued a Memorandum Circular that allows the registration of non-compliant vehicles under one specific clause.

DENR Reminds Car Buyers: Only Euro 4 Vehicles Allowed to be Registered by 2018
Interested in getting a new Isuzu mu-X or D-Max or Mitsubishi L300 or Adventure? Better get them now. Apart from the looming excise tax increase, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has set a December 31, 2017 deadline for the initial (new car) registration of these vehicles and other non-Euro 4 compliant vehicles in the country.

LTO Suspends No OR/CR, No Travel
UPDATE 1: And now, LTO is reiterating the No OR/CR, No Travel once more. (3/8).
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has deferred the implementation of the No OR/CR, No Travel Policy for 3 months (90 days) effective today (but there is a catch) . This agreement was reached from a meeting chaired by LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante with vehicle dealers.
