Sorry Guys That Black Cladding On The 2022 Subaru WRX Is Here To Stay
For those hoping the 2022 Subaru WRX would take a slightly different design direction outside of the U.S., you’re out of luck. This as Subaru pulled the wraps off the JDM version of its iconic World Rally eXperiment. And whether you like it or not, that black cladding is here to stay.

Review: 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Sedan
Ken Block, you should have stuck with Subaru. You may have a nifty new ride, but is it in the form of a legend? If you decided to stick it out, this may have been your new ride: the Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan. The name’s certainly a mouthful, but what’s 14 syllables between friends? Hopping into the WRX STI feels like meeting up with an ex-fling: she’s familiar, but there’s always something new about her. And you’ve got to admit, she’s packing some new curves this time too. You’re an unlucky guy, Ken.

Review: 2022 Subaru WRX Sedan CVT
The moment you step inside the all-new, 2022 Subaru WRX. It’s all business. In a price segment filled with many choices from affordable sportscars like the Mazda MX-5 and the Subaru BRZ to hot hatches like the Toyota GR Yaris, the ‘Rex is the most well-rounded of them all. It’s a car that’s polished and all grown up now, but is still down to clown when you want it to. It’s great, but the moment you get down from it, you’re thinking: what the fuck was Subaru thinking?

Review: 2018 Subaru WRX STI
Subaru Tecnica International or STI turns thirty this year, and while they’ve been responsible for Subaru’s motorsports activities, they’ve also become synonymous with go-faster Subarus. A great example is the WRX STI. The latest model, codenamed “VA”, manages to find itself embroiled in a turf war, not against its perennial rival, the Mitsubishi Evolution (rest its soul), but the Honda Civic Type R, Ford Mustang EcoBoost, and Volkswagen Golf R. Can the veteran still muster enough muscle to take on the youngsters?

Don't Hate Those Plastic Fenders On The 2022 Subaru WRX. They're There For A Reason
An XV sedan. A WRX crossover. Take your pick, the fifth-generation Subaru WRX has its share of pundits questioning one thing: the black fender flares. True enough, when the LED screen parted and the three WRXs rolled out onto the stage, most weren’t captivated by the functional hood scoop or the aggressive looking C-shaped headlights. All eyes were on the fender flares that run through the entire length of the lower body. What has Subaru been smoking?

Review: 2018 Subaru WRX 2.0 CVT
In the realm of performance cars, the pecking order can change quite quickly—one moment, you’re top of the heap, and in the next, you’re bottom of the pile. Four years therefore is an eternity in this segment, one that the Subaru WRX finds itself precariously in. With a replacement due in about a year or two, it’s no longer the segment’s young gun, but rather, it’s now the elder statesman. Has Father Time been kind to the latest iteration of the World Rally eXperiment?

All-New Subaru WRX STI Breaks Isle of Man Record
It seems there is proof in the pudding. Subaru announced that in a final timed run on the Isle of Man TT Course, Mark Higgins driving a 2015 Subaru WRX STI (our 2014) breaks his lap record of the fabled 37-mile course with an average lap speed of 117.510 MPH (189.114 km/h) and a time of 19 minutes and 15 seconds. In Higgins’ record lap earlier this week, several errors caused him to lose time and he was determined to get more out of car. This new lap record breaks the 116.470 MPH average and time of 19:26 set Wednesday. The previous record of 115.36 MPH was set in 2011 in a WRX STI.

Subaru Bridges Gap Between WRX and WRX STI with WRX STI Sport #
Two years ago, Subaru bridged the gap between the WRX and WRX STI with the WRX STI Sport. Not to be confused with the top-dog WRX STI, the WRX STI Sport is basically the WRX (WRX S4 in Japan) fitted with all sorts of new handling and cosmetic goodies. It’s basically “STI Lite,” in the same vein as BMW’s M Sport or Mercedes-Benz’s AMG Line. You follow?

Will The 2023 Subaru WRX STI Look Something Like This?
After the all-new Subaru WRX was shown, there was some trepidation surrounding its design, and how that will translate to the top-dog WRX STI. Not due until the 2023 model year (it is expected to make its global debut sometime in 2022 though), the design direction could be previewed by this: the WRX STI Performance Concept.
