Is this the 2014/15 All-New Subaru WRX STI? Seems So.

UPDATE: Subaru officially unveils the 2014 Subaru WRX STI

The thing about the internet is that it’s always hard to plug in every leak. Case in point: the 2014 Subaru WRX STI (2015 for the North American market). Supposed to grace the Subaru of America stand for its global debut at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), several clubs including the Subaru Club of the Philippines and Subaru Society have already started circulating photos of Subaru’s flagship performance car.

We won’t know for sure until the car’s unveil if this is the real deal, but based on the way these shots have been taken, they sure look like the WRX STI’s official press photos. These photos were taken from another Facebook page, Subiefest.

Compared to the already launched WRX, it seems the WRX STI will gain the trademark WR Blue Mica WR Blue Pearl color and (finally) gold wheels. Since the WRX runs on 17’s, seems the WRX STI will run on either 18’s or 19’s. And of course, we have the trademark gigantic rear wing. From what we can see, the WRX STI gains a unique front grille as well. Another new color for the WRX STI is Crystal White Pearl.

In terms of performance, the WRX STI is expected to run on a 2.5-liter flat-4 cylinder (likely related to the Forester XT/BRZ/WRX power plant) mated solely to a 6-speed manual transmission. Power is expected to be north of 300 horsepower with a 0-100 km/h of around 5 seconds. Among the available features for the WRX STI include Alcantara sport seats with blue bolsters, push button engine start/stop, and a Harman Kardon sound system.

The all-new Subaru WRX STI will make its debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) which opens on January 13. The Philippine launch is expected to be at the 2014 Manila International Auto Show in April.

    1. Though we have the prices already for both the WRX and WRX STi, we cannot give out that information. Wait for the official launch at MIAS on April 3.
