Foton Philippines Launches Transvan HR (w/ Brochure)

Celebrating its 106th anniversary, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) held a motor show in order to showcase modern public utility vehicles or PUVs. One of the exhibitors is Foton, which showcased its new Transvan High Roof or Transvan HR.

Unlike the standard Transvan model, the Transvan HR uses the luxury-oriented Traveller as basis. As such, it measures in at 5,335-mm in length, 2,020-mm in width (including mirrors), and 2,250-mm in height—making it one of the biggest offerings in its segment.

Like the Traveller, the Transvan HR features a 16-seater configuration, dual air conditioning, a full-fledged entertainment system, and power windows and door locks. Furthermore, it has anti-lock brakes (ABS) with EBD and brake assist for added safety.

Ensuring that the Transvan HR has the power to pull its bigger and wider body, it uses the 2.8-liter turbocharged common rail direct injection (CRDI) engine (non-Cummins). It offers 109 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 225 Nm of torque from 1,800 to 2,000 rpm. The sole transmission is a 5-speed manual.

“Our dynamic participation in the government’s project has been evident since day one. We remain committed to providing safe, reliable, and multi-functional transport solutions for the benefit of more Filipino commuters, families and businesses,” said Foton Philippines President Rommel Sytin.

The Foton Transvan HR’s retail pricing will be announced closer to its launch.

  1. Just 225Nm for such a big van? Good luck going up parking buildings. Then again with that high roof you probably won't be parking up there anyway. And think twice about bringing all your family and relatives to Tagaytay either.
