2026 Isuzu D-Max EV: This Is It

Share this on:

After showing it off as a mildly-disguised concept form in March last year, Isuzu has now shown what the production version of the D-Max EV has looked it. It has also revealed its key specifications ahead of its market launch in early 2026.

Still riding on the current D-Max platform, Isuzu has re-engineered it to offer “full commercial capabilities.” This means over a ton of payload and 3.5 tons of towing, despite an increased curb weight of 2,350 kilograms.

The D-Max EV is just as capable off-road with its full-time 4x4 system. Besides its impressive numbers—600 mm water wading, 210 mm ground clearance, it still has Isuzu’s Rough Terrain Mode backed up by solid “off-road” angles—30.5-degree approach and 24.2-degree departure.

Providing energy to the D-Max EV is a 66.9-kWh lithium-ion battery with an EV range of around 263 kilometers. Four levels of regenerative braking with Eco Mode helps extends the range. When it does need to plug in, it takes 10 hours using AC charging or 1 hour using DC charging (20 to 80 percent) thanks to its 50-kW maximum charging rate.

The dual motors produce a total output of 190 horsepower (140 kW) with 58 horsepower (43 kW) produced at the front and 132 horsepower (97 kW) produced at the back. Combined torque is 325 Nm (108 Nm front, 217 Nm rear). 0 to 100 km/h is quoted at 10.1 seconds, while top speed is pegged at around 130 km/h.

To fit the rear electric motor and batteries (as well as improve the ride), the D-Max EV ditches its rear leaf springs for an all-new De-Dion setup improving its overall handling. Cabin noise and vibration is down by 10 percent under full acceleration further improving passenger comfort.

Speaking of comfort, the D-Max EV comes with a solid list of on-board tech including a 7-inch digital driver’s display, an 8- or 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, dual zone climate control, leather upholstery, front & rear parking sensors, and an 8-speaker sound system.

The Isuzu D-Max EV, both right-, and yes, left-hand drive versions will be built in Thailand. It will be made available in key markets around the world with both Thailand and Europe confirmed to receive it.

  3. This should be cheaper in PH because of zero tariffs. Let's see. It serves most missions of current owners who hardly ever load the bed or go offroad, plus imagine an Isuzu without the diesel clatter! Toyota can still steal the thunder between now and 2026 or go the hybrid route instead. Isuzu is brave for wanting to be first (from traditional brands) in this segment.
