ACMobility Introduces Paid Charging In Visayas

You now have to pay to use ACMobility’s charging network in Cebu. After rolling out the paid model in Metro Manila late last year, EV owners in Visayas will now have to do the same.

According to the Ayala-owned company, the decision to introduce a paid model (through its Evro app) is to deliver dependable, around-the-clock charging helping maintain 24/7 availability, consistent upkeep, and reliable service.

For its customers in the Visayas region, it will cost P 33.5 per kWh for AC charging and P 38 per kWh for DC charging. These, according to ACMobility, are aligned with regional energy costs while also helping them support a network built for long-term ease of access and peace of mind.

Both locations institute an idle penalty or fee when vehicles are left at charging stations, but are not charging.

Though still cheaper than gassing up, ACMobility offers flexible subscription plans that result in 20 percent in savings. These range from P 1,200 to P 4,000 per month. As an alternative, Charge500 is available as a one-time prepaid offer that gives users access to the same discount without the full subscription.

Through ACMobility’s Charge Forward initiative and the national Philippine EV Spine program, ACMobility aims to power over 35 strategic locations across the Visayas by the end of 2025. Currently, there are 16 charge points already live at Ayala Center Cebu, Il Corso, and up to Bantayan and Camotes Islands, the network is designed to give EV drivers dependable access, whether they’re navigating urban centers or exploring island destinations.

“ACMobility’s Philippine EV Spine initiative is pivotal in shaping the future of electric mobility across the country,” added Buencamino. “We’re laying the foundation for a strong nationwide network of EV charging stations, ensuring that every Filipino has easy access to the infrastructure needed to embrace electric vehicles with confidence and convenience.”
