GAC Motor Embraces Chinese Craftsmanship

GAC Motor launched a new brand slogan: Go and Change. As such, they plan to embrace Chinese craftsmanship through four pillars: craftsmanship, connection, innovation, and QDR (Quality Durability Reliability).

This, according to the carmaker, is a commitment to providing customers with strong, long-lasting, and reliable vehicles. It’s not just about value; it’s about lasting value, providing car owners with a vehicle that will make their life easier and make driving more joyful.

The carmaker is leveraging its more than 18 global partners including Harman-Kardon for its speaker systems, air conditioning systems sourced from the same suppliers of Toyota and Honda, and the use of top-grade steel that helped it achieve numerous 5-star China New Car Assessment (C-NCAP) ratings.

Furthermore, GAC Motor vehicles undergo 4 million kilometers of durability testing, including having to face extreme conditions such as -40 degrees Celsius as well as desert and mountain terrain to ensure that it can perform in any environment owners wish to explore.

All in all, they guarantee vehicle quality for 10 years and 240,000 kilometers.

As modern vehicles are getting smarter and more technologically advanced every year. Comfort, safety, and appearance are not the only factors that influence a buyer's choice. Instead, customers are looking for maximum benefits from their cars. It’s not just about getting from A to B, but about making improvements and adding enjoyment to every part of the process.

With that, GAC Motor is now paying great attention to prioritize technological innovation. Their goal is to make modern, intelligent cars more affordable. The carmaker has invested a lot towards R&D particularly in the area of powertrain.

Finally, in respect to connectivity, GAC Motor is going beyond the usual Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Instead, connectivity is down to trust—trust between the brand and its customers, especially regarding its services.

For 2021, GAC Motor Philippines (Legado Motors) is planning to achieve a modest 400-unit sales. Currently, they have achieved 45 percent of that number. In terms of dealer footprint, the brand stands to open two more dealerships by the end of this year, and two more by next year.

The first three vehicles set to benefit from GAC Motor’s new mindset in the Philippines are the GAC GS8 Bulletproof Edition, all-new GAC GS4 (accompanying photos in this story), and the GAC GN8 Master’s Edition. Separately, they plan to launch their very own EV and the all-new GS8 by the end of 2022.

  1. I think GAC greatly benefits from its partnership with Toyota 😊
One of the Chinese car brands in my humble shortlist (Geely, Chery, Changan, and GAC).
