Isuzu PH To Debut All-New 2022 mu-X On September 22

September is now shaping to be a very busy month for mid-sized 7-seater SUV buyers. After Nissan Philippines revealed the official launch date of the new Terra, Isuzu Philippines has pinned down Wednesday, September 22 as the all-new 2022 mu-X’s launch date.

Officially, Isuzu Philippines has been mum on details about the all-new mu-X, (sign up here to get email updates) but dealer leaks have pointed out that it will be made available in five variants. The prices, though not final, were revealed to be between P 1.590 million to P 2.45 million.

Compared to the outgoing mu-X, the all-new model rides on a brand-new platform dubbed the Dynamic Drive Platform. With that, it’s 25 mm longer, 10 mm wider, but 15 mm shorter than before. Its wheelbase is also stretched by 10 mm. Ground clearance is rated at 235 mm, while water wading depth is at 800 mm.

The Philippine-spec mu-X is expected to be made available with both the 1.9-liter RZ4E and 3.0-liter 4JJ-TCX engine. The former makes 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while the latter does 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual will be made available with the base model, but the rest will have a 6-speed automatic.

If the price is any indication, Isuzu is leveling up the tech in the mu-X and with that comes with both LED head- and taillights, a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android, an an electronic parking brake. Higher trim models will have an 8-speaker sound system, a power tailgate, and rain-sensing wipers.

Plus, unlike the D-Max, more variants of the mu-X will benefit from the Smart Duo Cam driver assist system. With that, it unlocks features such as automatic front emergency braking, forward collision warning, active cruise control, and lane departure warning. It will also have blind spot indicators with rear cross traffic alert.

Isuzu Philippines will soon open the reservation books of the all-new mu-X. Interested clients can be notified through this link.
