Goodyear And Plus Collaborate On How To Make Driverless Logistics Safer, More Efficient

Goodyear has announced a strategic collaboration with Plus, a global provider of self-driving truck technology to provide solutions that elevate the logistics industry into one that’s truly intelligent and connected.

The collaboration will have Goodyear’s suite of services, including connected tires, enhancing efficiency and safety for trucks powered by Plus’s Level 4 autonomous driving technology.

Level 4 autonomous driving offers high levels of self driving. In fact, human interaction is not required even if things go wrong, or if there is a system failure. A human can still manually override the system though.

Both companies will explore how feedback from the tires can boost fuel efficiency through machine learning. It can also improve overall performance in severe and extreme road conditions.

Plus is already deploying its driver-in autonomous driving solution, PlusDrive, to customers and is expected to start production of the FAW J7 L3 truck (First Automobile Works) powered by PlusDrive in the third quarter of 2021.
