Lexus Updates GX SUV Anew For 2022

With the launch of the all-new 2022 Land Cruiser 300, it’s just going to be a matter of time before the world sees its Lexus counterpart, the all-new LX. One tier down though, it seems Lexus is keeping its J.D. Power recognized GX for much longer, giving it more tech for 2022.

Changes to the 2022 Lexus GX 460 are found inside where it finally gets a larger, more advanced 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new screen necessitates a redesign of the center console which takes on the “floating” approach prevalent in many new cars today, and as a result, gets a total of six USB chargers.

Underneath, the GX 460 continues with a 4.6-liter V8 but now making 305 horsepower and 446 Nm of torque (up from 292 horsepower and 438 Nm). It also has Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) that helps keep it level in both off- and on-road conditions as well as Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).

It also comes with Lexus Safety System+ which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Intelligent High Beams, and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Commemorating the launch of the new GX in the U.S., Lexus came up with a Black Line Special Edition. The GX 460 Black Line Special Edition adds high-gloss black 18-inch wheels along with black elements to the lower bumpers, roof rails, and grille surround. An exclusive new color—Nori Green Pearl is also available.

Inside, the GX 460 Black Line Special Edition receives a black headliner, black and gray seats, and Matte Black Ash Wood trim on the steering wheel.

With U.S. customers now getting the refreshed GX 460, it’s just going to be a matter of time before customers in markets such as the Philippines will also receive it. It will likely make its way towards the end of this year.
