GWM Philippines has officially started teasing the Ora 5. Set to arrive in the next couple of months, the carmaker has revealed its initial specifications as order inquiries officially open.
Underpinned by the EV-first ORA platform, the Ora 05 will come with a fully electric powertrain for the local market. Thanks to a 58.3-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, it’ll have 430 kilometers of WLTP (580 kilometers NEDC) range. The single front-mounted motor produces 201 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque offering smooth, responsive performance.
Ora’s signature retro-inspired character continues on the Ora 5 EV. This gives it a fluidic, sculpted form that balances visual softness with aerodynamic efficiency. The water drop-inspired LED headlights give it a distinctive lighting signature, while the clean, closed fascia enhances its stance and width. At each corner, it has 18-inch alloy wheels with a distinctive four-leaf clover design. And at the rear, daybreak-inspired taillights form a continuous light bar.
The Ora 5 measures in at 4,471 mm in length, 1,833 mm in width, and 1,641 mm in height. And despite its planted looks, its 175 mm of ground clearance supports everyday usability. Its 2,720 mm wheelbase also translates to a practical, yet tech-laden cabin running on the latest Coffee OS intelligent cockpit system.
A 14.6-inch central display serves as the primary interface for vehicle functions, media and navigation, delivering a high-resolution, responsive user experience, while the driver has a 10.25-inch fully digital display.
This technology is complemented by thoughtful interior features including a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, 64-color ambient interior lighting, and the brand’s own LIDAR + AI-powered ADAS system dubbed Coffee Pilot Ultra.

ReplyDeleteWill they price this to compete with the byd seagull?
ReplyDeleteNot in the same segment size-wise. Would most likely compete with the Atto 2 and/or 3, since this will be positioned as a crossover. Would be a decent option if priced below P1.3M (Atto 2 is currently positioned at P1.338M.
