2024 Mazda CX-90 To Deliver Up To 345 Horsepower

Just when you thought Mazda already made their most powerful production vehicle in the CX-60 PHEV, they’ve upped themselves with the revelation of the CX-90’s outputs. This now is the most powerful production vehicle in their stable.

Ahead of its January 31 global reveal, Mazda reveals that the CX-90’s 3.3-liter e-Skyactiv Turbo engine will generate 345 PS (340 horsepower) between 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and 500 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. This is, as a reminder, a 22 percent uplift compared to the CX-60’s figures.

Power figures aside, this setup will provide a rewarding exhaust note. A 48-volt mild hybrid system will also improve fuel economy.

Further building on its performance credentials, the three-row CX-90 rides on the brand’s Large Platform architecture with a rear-biased all-wheel drive layout. All CX-90 variants will also benefit from Kinematic Posture Control or KPC—a handling technology first introduced in the MX-5.

So far, the CX-90 has been confirmed for the North American and Australian markets. There is still no confirmation whether the Philippines will get this new three-row SUV, however, local distributor Bermaz Auto Philippines, is studying to bring the two-row CX-60 in.
