Astara PH Appoints Jun Cajayon As GAC Motor Head

Astara Philippines, the new distributor of GAC Motor, has announced Redentor “Jun” Cajayon as Brand Head for GAC Motor Philippines.

Jun comes to Astara Philippines with close to 30 years of extensive sales, marketing, and network development experience gained from the automotive industry. Most recently, he headed AC Motors’ Maxus brand as General Manager.

As Brand Head for GAC Motor Philippines, Jun will be responsible for driving strategic marketing direction, sales programs, and dealer network development for the GAC Motor brand in the market.

“We have achieved significant milestones in our first year with Peugeot and we are confident that we will do the same for GAC Motor this year. Jun is a seasoned executive with an impressive track record, and we are happy to have him on board to drive GAC Motor to new heights through impactful marketing and sales campaigns,” said Raoul Picello, managing director of Astara Philippines.

Under Astara, GAC Motor Philippines is set to launch the highly-anticipated all-new Empow and the all-new GS8 SUV on January 18, rounding up its vehicle line up to five nameplates including the current models of the GS3, GS4 and GN6.

The company is also scheduled to open new showroom and service facilities within the first quarter to further expand its network reach across the country.

With two global brands under its belt, Astara has established itself as a key player in the local automotive sector since only launching in January 2022. Formerly known as Bergé Auto, Astara is one of the biggest automotive distributors in the world, and has carried out a successful path as a leading group in distribution and mobility services in the last 40 years. The company has sold over three million cars as a strategic partner of the world’s leading automotive groups including GAC Motor, which Astara presently distributes in Chile and Peru.

GAC Motor was first introduced in the market in November 2018 and has been known for its value-for-money offerings. Their commitment to quality also extends to its dealers, who are dedicated to ensuring that the ownership experience of customers is reliable and worry-free.

  2. Not expecting too much from the new management of GAC
The prices of current GAC vehicles will be the same and the lineup was reduced as the affordable GA4 Sedan and the Odyssey like GN8 van are gone in favor of Corolla Altis and Civic S priced like Empow Sedan and New GS8 SUV priced at 2.4 Million Pesos.
At least the number of dealerships will increase under them..Old dealers like GAC Pasig will still in business which is great news.
