Kia ended 2024 with record-breaking sales, including the highest monthly figures in the brand’s history since its acquisition by ACMobility, Ayala’s mobility arm.
Last year, Kia in the Philippines’ total sales reached 6,692 units—an impressive 32.96 percent year-on-year growth. December 2024 marked the brand’s highest-ever monthly sales, achieving a total of 805 units, the highest since ACMobility took over in January 2019.
“We are incredibly pleased with the performance of our vehicles in 2024, which has resonated well with Filipino consumers,” says Antonio “Toti” Zara III, Head of Automotive Retail Distribution at ACMobility. “Surpassing 800-unit sales in a single month is a testament to the hard work of our team and dealer partners, and it highlights the momentum we’ve built in the market with models that address the aspirations of Filipino motorists. As we continue to lead a movement that inspires, we are excited to carry this success into 2025 and beyond.”
Since its launch in June 2024, the Kia Sonet has emerged as a formidable player in the Philippine automotive market. Achieving a remarkable 23% market share since its launch in the entry-level B-SUV segment, the Sonet solidifies its position in second place, comprising nearly one out of every four subcompact SUVs sold in the Philippines (read our full review).
By the end of December 2024, the Kia Sonet recorded an impressive 3,823 units sold in just seven months of retail sales. This milestone firmly establishes the Sonet as the 4th best-selling subcompact SUV of the year and the best-selling model introduced by Kia in the Philippine market. Furthermore, the Sonet’s monthly sales tripled those of its predecessor, the Kia Stonic, underscoring its market appeal and strong customer demand.
Looking ahead, Kia aims to build on its strong sales momentum and deliver even more exciting and customer-centric models in the coming years.
“2024 has been a pivotal year for Kia Philippines, and we’re thrilled with the growth we’ve seen. Our success with the Sonet and other models reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative, reliable, and stylish vehicles to Filipino consumers. We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue offering products that meet the needs of the modern Filipino driver,” adds Brian Buendia, Chief Operating Officer of Kia Philippines.
Making South Korea great, but not again lol, Filipinos would only take on the South Koreans for food, fashion, movies, music, TV series etc..
ReplyDeleteAC should be more responsible to kia car buyers, sonet middle and base variant dont have the basic safety features stability control and hill start assist👎👎👎
ReplyDeleteAC has Honda and Isuzu already, but however, that's how the Philippines works lol.
Deletethey could do away with Cruise Control and replace it with ESC to be honest, lalo na pag city driving lang you don't need Cruise Control. Hill Start Assist....meh kinda 50/50, optional pwede. ESC dapat talaga standard na, buti nalang may ABS.
DeleteKia Sonet EX and SX are overpriced
ReplyDeleteLX is the best selling variant
Sales of Kia Carnival is also good
Sales of Soluto dropped a lot again
It's time for them to bring the syros i guess? To compete against the likes of spresso and wigo. I mean if they can put a 1.2 engine to it....
ReplyDeleteSyros is only meant for the Indian market, Hyundai and Kia sell more cars in India to be honest.
DeleteKia PH finally has a volume car that it needs to sustain its brand recall in the country. From here, buyers may consider its other niche offerings - Carnival, Sorento, EV 5/6. With so many brands offered in the country, KIA is barely there (volume wise). It may also be difficult to attract new dealerships as many marques are competing for attention today.
ReplyDeleteI prefer Kia over Hyundai even if they differ only in the shell (exterior and interior) setup.
