ACMobility To Have 74 Fully Operational Charging Points By Q1 2025 In Makati

ACMobility, the mobility solutions arm of the Ayala Group and a leader in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, is set to expand its charging network across Makati City—one of the leading sustainable cities in Metro Manila. By Q1 2025, Makati will host more than 74 fully operational charging points across 18 locations, including offices, malls, condominiums, and more.

“ACMobility is excited to enhance Makati’s mobility infrastructure with a comprehensive charging network, ensuring convenient and efficient solutions for residents and visitors,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility. “As a key city for our EV ecosystem expansion, Makati exemplifies the potential of electric mobility in urban centers, and we are dedicated to meeting its evolving needs toward a greener future.”

“As one of the country’s most sustainable cities, Makati continues to lead by example in building a future-ready urban environment,” said Abigail “Abby” Binay, Mayor of Makati City. “By boosting our EV infrastructure through ACMobility, we commit to the integration of cleaner technologies into the daily life of Makatizens. As such, we look forward to the expansion of ACMobility’s EV charging stations not only within the business district but also outside of it, making it possible for the entire Makati community to experience the benefits of electric vehicles.”

ACMobility is spearheading the expansion of Makati’s EV charging network, ensuring sustainable urban mobility is accessible to commuters, visitors, workers, and residents . With 47 operational charging points strategically located across the city, the network serves a variety of locations such as offices, transport terminals, residential areas, and commercial spaces. This includes carparks at notable sites like Valero 2, Dela Rosa 1, and key areas such as the Makati Stock Exchange and Solaris One — reflecting a thoughtfully distributed network designed to integrate seamlessly into Makati’s urban landscape.

In collaboration with Ayala Land and the Makati Central Estate Association (MACEA), ACMobility will expand the network in Q1 2025 with 27 additional charge points, including 19 DC fast charge points that provide significantly reduced charging times. Among the key additions are ultra-fast chargers at the Corinthian and Legaspi car parks, designed to enhance convenience for EV users across the city.

“We are proud to support Makati’s transformation into a benchmark for sustainable urban mobility,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility. “This is just the beginning, and we look forward to bringing the same level of commitment and innovation to other cities across the country, ensuring that the EV infrastructure keeps pace with the growing adoption of electric vehicles and sets the stage for a cleaner, more connected future for all.”

  1. Nice but battery replacement for EV estimated at half the priced of EV car. EV ok for rich pipol

  2. Now do the provinces where chargers are very few and far between.

    1. The plan is to have every BYD dealership be a charging station that's also accessible to non-BYD owners. If that pushes through, each provincial BYD dealership becomes a charging station too.

    2. That's good, but that's not enough to assuage range anxiety. We need an EVCS in every corner. Maybe ACMobility can work out deals with major oil companies, convenience store chains, or even cafes like Starbucks, to host charging stations in most of their locations. This will drastically increase the country's EV charging footprint.

    3. Good luck asking those big OIL companies

    4. I saw a BPI branch with an EV charger in Metro Manila. If ACM can leverage all of BPI’s freestanding branches, they’ll have a very expansive national charging network. It’s the easier route since ACM and BPI are both under Ayala.

    5. Just goes to show how ignorant some people are. Shell already has it's own EVCS brand called Shell Recharge, Petron recently opened its first EVCS location with plans for more, Unioil also has a couple of EVCS locations, they're the first in the industry to have them I believe. I won't be surprised if other oil companies followed suit, either by going at it on their own or by partnering up with firms like ACMobility.

  3. Would they include GBT plugs

    1. ACMobility's AC chargers have interchangeable plugs, you can switch between Type 2 and GBT.

  4. I agree more chargers on highways and provinces are needed. Very few charge at AC mobility in malls unless these are EV owners that live in condos.
