The BYD Atto 3 Is The Philippines' Best Selling EV For 2024

There’s a bit of mystery surrounding BYD Cars’ Philippine numbers; after all, they’re one of the few brands that don’t disclose their sales figures. However, leading up to the launch of the refreshed Atto 3 for 2025, BYD just disclosed just how many of these all-electric compact SUVs they were able to sell.

In an official press statement, BYD Cars Philippines says they were able to move 1,062 units of the Atto 3 for the entirety of 2024.

Since its launch and price adjustment under ACMobility, the Atto 3 has become the best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the country. Although no details were shared this time, last September, they did say that the Atto 3 alone has managed to corner close to 45 percent of all BEV sales.

Putting the Atto 3’s numbers into perspective, that would mean that the Atto 3 outsold entire brands such as Volkswagen (228), Peugeot (177), BMW (815), Changan (1,047), and JMC (1,012). They’re not that far behind Jetour (1,702) and Chery (2,773) too. And take note, these brands did these numbers with five or more vehicles in their line-up, where as BYD accomplished it with just this one.

“The latest updates to the BYD Atto 3 enhance its appeal with refined features that keep it fresh and competitive in the growing EV market," said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. "Known for offering high-quality features at an affordable price, the Atto 3 continues to attract new customers to the brand as it solidifies its position as the electric vehicle of choice for those seeking a stylish and accessible BEV amid the market’s transition to an electric-powered lifestyle.”

The new Atto 3 has a refreshed exterior with high-gloss black elements replacing the chrome ones, new exterior and interior colorways, and a larger 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen.

Mechanically, it continues with its same front-driven, front-mounted electric motor with 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. The Atto 3 Dynamic comes with a 49.9-kWh battery for a 410-kilometer range, while the Atto 3 Premium has a 60.5-kWh battery enough for 480 kilometers between charges.

The BYD Atto 3 comes with 6-year or 150,00-kilometer vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer for the high-voltage BYD Blade Battery, and an 8-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty for the electric motor.

  3. I wonder if the overstyled interior (with the bizarre guitar-inspired motif) has been fixed.
