Chevrolet Philippines Launching All-New 2021 Tracker In July

When Chevrolet Philippines revealed their plans for 2021, they said it would be a year of “realignment.” And while they confirmed the arrival of the mid-engined Corvette as well as the Tahoe and Suburban, they also previously mentioned that two all-new models will be making its way to the Philippines. One of these two new models has just been confirmed: it’s the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tracker.

Targeted at a younger generation of buyers, the Tracker adopts Chevrolet’s new-generation SUV design. It contains Z-shaped lines cross the body to give it a youthful energy along with a strong angular visual effect.

Measuring in at 4,270 mm in length and with a wheelbase of 2,570 mm, the Tracker will be competing squarely in the sub-compact SUV segment. It will also likely serve as the Chevrolet Trax’s official replacement, at least locally.

Chevrolet Philippines will likely source the Tracker from China, where it’s available with turbocharged powerplants. The base Tracker uses a 1.0-liter with 125 horsepower and 180 Nm of torque, while the sportier Redline trim uses a 1.3-liter with 164 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. For the smaller engine version, it comes with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, while the larger engine is paired with a CVT. Both versions though come with idle start/stop.

The Tracker is being dubbed as a “tech-rich” SUV and without a doubt, it will come with Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. In China, it even comes with a slew of driver assist technology such as lane keep assist (LKA) and lane departure warning (LDW) as well.

Chevrolet Philippines hasn’t revealed any pricing info as of yet, but in China, it starts at RMB 118,900 (P 885,500) and tops out at RMB 139,900 (P 1.04 million). The Tracker’s Philippine debut is set on the first week of July.
