Vehicle Importers See Full Year Sales Remain Steady in 2019


The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID) ended the year with a marginal dip of just 0.5 percent, selling 87,984 units compared to 2018’s 88,430 units. This was as the 13-member group rallied with a strong December performance, selling 8,089 units—a 12 percent increased versus the same month in 2018.

Vehicle Importers Say Year-to-Date Sales Still Down 3.3 Percent


The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID) began the fourth quarter of 2019 with 7,320 units sold in October equivalent to a 5 percent gain versus the 7,000 units sold the previous month. Despite a slight dip of 3 percent or 71,396 units sold year-to-date (YTD) in October compared to the same period last year, AVID is optimistic that the auto industry’s performance will make headway in the last two months of the year.

Vehicle Importers Show Dip in 2019 Sales for First 7 Months


The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID) says sales reached a total of 50,164 units for the first 7 months of 2019, a slight dip from the 50,505 units sold in the same period last year. In July alone, the AVID members reached 6,987 units—a 11 percent decrease.

Vehicle Importers Saw Q1 2019 Sales Decline 3 Percent


The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID) reports that First Quarter 2019 sales still fell 3 percent to 22,497 units compared to 23,038 during the same period last year. That said, the group saw March 2019 sales hit a positive 8 percent. The 7,952 units sold during the month is up compared to 7,380 units in 2018 indicating that the automotive industry is beginning to recover.

Vehicle Importers Sales Rebound in February, Posts 12 Percent Year-on-Year Growth


The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. or AVID posted a healthy 12 percent year-on-year growth in sales for the month of February 2019 reaching 7,876 units from last year’s 7,017 units. The growth, AVID says, was driven by increased consumer spending and the launch of new and exciting products.

AVID Members Sold 65,917 Units Sold from January to September 2018


Dampened by the high inflation, interest rate hike, and a surge in oil prices, the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID) sales witnessed a slowdown, recording 65,917 units sold, a 13 percent year-to-date decline from last year’s 75,949 units sold. In Q3 2018, the association slipped by 18 percent with 22,774 units sold against Q3 2017’s 27,605 units sold.

AVID Members Cap Off First Half 2017 with 6 Percent Growth


The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors posted a remarkable 6 percent growth in the first semester of 2017, pushing total sales to 48,348 units from 45,470 units over the same period in 2016. Quarter-on-quarter sales performance was likewise solid as it closed Q2 2017 with 25,031 units from 23,317 units in Q1 2017. The continued upsurge in AVID sales is only a testament of the burgeoning demand for imported vehicles in the Philippines.

AVID Sales Surge 38 Percent in 2nd Quarter of 2015


Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID) saw its sales climb by 38% in the 2nd quarter, registering 12,178 units versus 8,849 in the same period last year. First semester performance grew 15 percent to 20,626 for the first six months of the year. The remarkable surge in unit sales reflects the collective effects of strong consumer uptake and AVID’s incessant efforts in expanding avenues in which it engages its ever-evolving consumer base.
