Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Announces Airbag Recall for 6 Models

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), attuned with the directive of its principal, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan, will conduct a safety inspection campaign on selected units of Lancer, Lancer Evolution IX, Fuzion, L200, Strada, and Pajero models.

For the Lancer, Lancer Evolution IX, Fuzion, L200, and Strada, the affected units may have defective airbag inflators while for the Pajero, the airbag inflator propellant (ammonium nitrate) may deteriorate after being subject to humid weather for an extended period of time.

The inspection and/or replacement procedure of the affected airbag inflator may take about two (2) hours at the most and shall be free of charge.

Tthere will be Vehicle Identification Number or VIN checking procedure for those potentially affected units, the links to which can be accessed below.
To ensure smooth servicing, customers may call their Mitsubishi dealership to schedule the servicing of their unit. For additional concerns and inquiries, customers can get in touch with MMPC Customer Care Center at telephone numbers (+63 2) 250 8888 Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.

All authorized Mitsubishi Motors Service Centers nationwide are also capable and ready to attend to any related customers’ inquiry and concerns.
