Toyota Motor Philippines adds a new variant of its snub-nosed Hiace Commuter Deluxe, only this time, it’s meant to service last-mile logistics services. Priced at P 1,621,000—it’s P 426,000 more than the flat-nosed Commuter Cargo which is still retained in the local line-up.
The Commuter Deluxe Cargo is much bigger than the Commuter Cargo allowing for a much bigger capacity. It is 5,265 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,990 mm in height making it 570 mm longer, 255 mm wider, and 10 mm taller than the Commuter Cargo. Its wheelbase—at 3,210 mm—is 640 mm longer too.
Powered by a 1GD-FTV 2.8-liter common rail direct injection diesel, the Commuter Deluxe Cargo also has much more pulling power. It offers 176 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 420 Nm of torque from 1,400 to 2,600 rpm. With a 6-speed manual gearbox and a sizeable 70-liter tank, it’ll also go the distance.
Designed as a logistics vehicle, the Commuter Deluxe Cargo only comes with three seats, in a white colorway, and rides on 215 70R16C ply-biased tires on steelies with full covers. And compared to the Commuter Cargo, the Commuter Deluxe Cargo gets bi-beam multi-reflector halogen headlights, a tilt/telescopic adjustable steering column, and an 8-inch display audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s also beefed up when it comes to safety with dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, and a reverse camera.

Bring Toyota Hiace Minorchange in the Philippines like new smart key and push start, head up display, new dash camera, new rear camera, infotainment system like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Smart Link, Google Built, automatic climate control, power dual sliding door and digital cluster

DeleteIf you want more specs in the lower priced variants you need stronger competition to force them because Toyota won't just give these extra features if people are still just gonna buy the vehicles regardless.
DeleteIs it made in japan?
ReplyDeleteI believe Thailand
DeleteJapan
DeleteDont forget to put a "NOT FOR HIRE" decal guys!
ReplyDeleteI hope if the unit need to have "not for hire" as mandated by LTO it should be incorporated prior to unit release with the dealer.
DeleteSir Uly, the aforementioned features (8-inch infotainment system and reverse camera) that is mentioned on the article for the Commuter Cargo Deluxe is now also offered in the regular Commuter Deluxe as part of last year's update. I already seen units with these changes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarifying that, but yes. Those features are also on the Commuter Deluxe. Maybe I wasn't clear in the story.
DeleteThink of this as a Hilux with fully enclosed, weather-proof cargo bed. It would have been nice to have a side door. If you notice delivery drivers, they usually access items from the side door when curbside.
