A decade after the introduction of the first Patrol Nismo and its unmistakable combination of power and race-inspired styling, Nissan is bringing it to global markets with the 2026 Patrol Nismo. Considered as the most potent Patrol ever, the Patrol Nismo offers a retuned engine, suspension system, and of course, unmistakable motorsports detailing inside and out.
Hiding beneath the Nismo-red engine cover and commemorative metal plate, the output of the Patrol Nismo’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 is up to 495 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 700 Nm at 3,600 rpm (from 425 horsepower and 700 Nm). This makes it the highest output for the VR35DDTT engine anywhere globally. Each Nismo engine undergoes a special manual tuning process by Nissan’s Iwaki Plant experts (where the VR35DDTT’s made), including a meticulous valve clearance check and adjustment to ensure optimal performance. The engine is paired to a recalibrated 9-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters. Active Sound Enhancement (ASE) pumps the Nismo-tuned exhaust system into the cabin.
The Patrol Nismo wears a motorsports-inspired body design that serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. The front bumper channels air directly to the brakes, reducing brake temperatures by six percent, while the dramatic front-end’s honeycomb mesh increases airflow into the radiator. The front spoiler with its integrated air splitter, side air splitters and outlets, and extended “Layered Double Wing” rear spoiler all act to generate downforce at speed.
All in all, this increases the Patrol Nismo’s dimensions to 5,295 mm in length and 2,070 mm in width—up 90 mm and 40 mm, respectively, compared to the regular Patrol. Front overhang s also up +30 mm (1,020 mm), while rear overhang is up +60 mm (1,200 mm). Weight is up by 4 kilograms to 2,817 kilograms.
At each corner of the Patrol Nismo are 22-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels, co-developed with Rays. The 9-spoke design, which is a unique Nismo design, provides optimal structural rigidity while minimizing weight by 23 percent than the base model. These are paired with high-performance 275/50R22 tires.
Engineers have also reworked the steering and suspension as well. The Nismo-tuned E-Dampers automatically adjust damping levels in real-time, sharpening responsiveness and enhancing ride stability whether navigating tight corners or cruising on long highways. In other markets, the Adaptive Air Suspension remains an available option. The electric power steering and stability control system have been recalibrated for enhanced cornering capability.
Inside, the Patrol Nismo features an arresting black-and-red color scheme, highlighted by contrast stitching across the dashboard, seats, steering wheel, and doors. Nismo logos adorn the headrests, while touches such as the red seat belts and start/stop engine button, carbon fiber-inspired accents, and aluminum pedals further enhance the high-performance atmosphere.
The Patrol Nismo goes on sale in the Middle East by July, with the United States (where it’s known as the Armada) confirmed to get it by the third or fourth quarter of the year.
