One Honda Road Safety Event Reiterates Honda's Commitment To Zero Traffic Fatalities By 2050

Honda Cars Philippines and Honda Philippines—the country’s distributor of Honda’s four- and two-wheeled vehicles, respectively, held a joint One Honda Road Safety event as part of its reaffirmation to have zero traffic fatalities involving its automobiles and motorcycles by 2050.

With Honda setting a 50 percent target by 2030, the Japanese auto and motorcycle giant realizes that introducing advanced safety technology is just part of the solution. Safety awareness and education, they believe, it also paramount.

The day-long One Honda event drew government representatives and customers to tackle road safety practices as well as get a hands-on feel for Honda’s four- and two-wheeled safety technology.

The morning had a road safety awareness seminar that tackled topics on safe driving and riding behavior, hazard prediction, tips on preventive maintenance and common vehicle emergencies, and vehicle safety technology.

In the afternoon, participants put these lessons to practice through a series of test drives and rides.

For its four-wheeled vehicle line-up, Honda Cars Philippines focused on Honda Sensing, particularly its Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) which helps warn, mitigate collision, or lessen the severity of frontal collision.

Aside from CMBS, Honda Sensing also bundles Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW, Auto High Beam (AHB), and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN).

On the other hand, Honda Philippines brought in its latest motorcycles fitted with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Combined Braking System (CBS). This is on top of other features such as Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Automatic Headlights On (AHO).

Also introduced in the PCX160 is Road Sync, a convenient and easy way to access calls, messaging, navigation, and music.
