BYD Is The Official Car Of Superman In The Philippines

Superman may prefer flying to get wherever he’s going, but if he needs something much more grounded, he can rely on BYD. Teaming up with Warner Bros. Philippines, BYD Cars Philippines, has become the official mobility partner of the new Superman movie.

The partnership kicked off at the Philippine Fans Day of the Superman World Tour which happened at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. The event brought together the movie’s cast, director, and producer. Meanwhile, BYD Cars Philippines showed off the Sealion 5 DM-i decked in Superman-themed decals.

Seven additional BYD electric vehicles including the BYD Tang seven-seater SUV, the eMAX 7 seven-seater MPV, and the Seal sedan, transported Warner Bros. executives and crew throughout the Philippine tour.

“This is an exciting partnership that introduces two game changers—a new Superman and the all-new BYD Sealion 5 DM-i,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “BYD’s collaboration with Superman celebrates the Super DM-i Technology’s extraordinary performance and innovation, while inspiring hope—values that align perfectly with BYD as a global pioneer in automotive innovation and sustainable mobility,” shared Palanca.

“We are honored to be the official partner of the Superman movie here in the Philippines. At BYD, we believe that true strength isn’t just about power, it’s about using it to protect, uplift, and inspire,” said Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD Philippines.“ Just like Superman, BYD is all about pushing boundaries and making a difference. As the Global No. 1 New Energy Vehicle brand, we’re using our strength in innovation to help protect the planet and drive a better, greener future for everyone,” added Hu.

More Superman-themed promotions in the coming months will celebrate the partnership, starting with the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i Superman display on the second floor of SM North EDSA The Block from July 3 to 9, 2025, coinciding with the BYD Tech Tour, which will be present there from July 4 to 6, 2025.

  1. I know this is supposed to focus on the car aspect of the event but I was at least hoping for some pictures of the cast at the event.

  2. 0km kilometer 2nd hand car from China, BYD Phil’s is part of the conspiracy. Take a look at the charging ports, if you can see screws on it, it was “manually “ replaced and not factory OEM.

    2. Maybe even a super conspiracy theorist! I wonder what that costume would look like, I'd assume it would involve a tin-foil hat (or tin-foil cape maybe?).

Honestly, I think some people barely put any thought to these allegations. Why would Ayala (ACMobility), a reputable company, bother with such a scheme? I would bet that some of these people don't know that Ayala is involved and think that the main chinese company runs the show.

    1. That’s where unfair competition comes in, it may be new but it’s an old unit, will you be happy?

    2. "it may be new but it's an old unit.."

Remind me again how the japanese car makers treat the Philippine market? -->> "It's an old design but new from the factory! Tried and proven na si [insert japanese brand here]"

Btw, anyone can go to wikipedia and see the release history of all BYD cars if you really want to cross-check the news being spread. The eMAX 7 (BYD M6), for example, was unveiled early 2024 and started sales mid-late 2024. How old do you think are the oldest units you can get? Trick question! Because it released; Hong Kong > India > Indonesia > Malaysia > Philippines. That's right it's all been right-hand drive countries until us. "Baka mula China units natin kasi left-hand drive din sila?!" The eMAX 7 (BYD M6) is not even sold in China. Of course not all of BYD's cars will follow the same history but you can more or less repeat this research with almost all other models of BYD (that they are selling here).

  7. Changan nevo QO5 SE phev miles better than byd sealion5, nevo QO5 ID miles better than byd sealion6, changan hunter PHEV pick up miles affordable than byd shark pick up. Geely EX5 miles better than byd atto3. AC Byd supposed 77 dealerships now doomed, with not so many units sold dealerships after sales income wont help them much. Another blow will be the incoming territory PHEV. competition catching up fast and furious

    1. Though I don't agree with the doomer-speak (especially when I've definitely noticed a lot of sharks around my area), more competition is a great thing.
