Here Are The Variants And Specs Of The All-New 2025 MG ZS Sub-Compact SUV

Share this on:

Prior to its official Philippine debut this July 3, MG Philippines has revealed the variants and full specs of the all-new MG ZS sub-compact SUV. Building on the success that made the ZS a core model in MG’s line-up both locally and globally, it offers substantial upgrades in performance, technology, and comfort. Watch our first impressions here.

Presenting a new cutting-edge design, the all-new ZS bears the new MG signature family look with its dual layer front face. The top part incorporates the Connected Hunter Eyes headlights with either halogen or LED illumination, while at the bottom is a prominent and confident grille. At each corner are alloy wheels measuring 16 to 18 inches in diameter, while at the back is a standard sports spoiler and LED taillights.

Inside, the ZS features a heightened sense of technology courtesy of two screens either with a 3.5 or 7-inch TFT driver’s display and a center display measuring either 10.25 or 12.3 inches with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has automatic climate control with rear vents, a 6-way power driver’s seat, and a panoramic sunroof as available features.

The overall dash design is also much more sophisticated with its multi-layered approach. This visually widens the cabin, while making operation much more intuitive. The steering wheel features joystick-like switches for a sportier look and feel, while the shifter takes inspiration from a jet wing. Meanwhile, the seats are covered in fabric or PVC leather.

For the second-generation ZS, MG Philippines is offering a choice of three powertrains—a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder in both normally-aspirated and turbocharged versions, and for the first time ever, a 1.5-liter hybrid.

The 1.5 Comfort and 1.5 Luxury variants offer 110 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque thanks to its natural aspiration. Moving up to the 1.5T Sport, it gains a healthy 170 horsepower and 275 Nm due to its turbocharger. These powertrains are mated to a CVT, with the Comfort and Luxury getting eight simulated gears to the Turbo Sport’s seven.

At the top of the range is the 1.5 Hybrid+. This new series-parallel hybrid system offers a combined 197 horsepower of output (102 horsepower from the engine and 100 kW or 136 horsepower from the electric motor). A sizeable 1.83-kWh lithium-ion battery offers longer all-electric range than most other self-charging hybrids which is achievable up to 87 km/h, while a unique three-speed hybrid transmission means an optimized powertrain regardless of speed.

All ZS models get 4 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, and tire pressure monitoring as standard. Moving up to the 1.5T Sport and 1.5 Hybrid+, it gains two additional airbags as well as a 360-degree camera and the MG Pilot ADAS. MG Pilot bundles adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, road edge emergency lane keeping, forward collision warning, intelligent speed assist, traffic jam assist, blind spot information system, lane change assist, and rear cross traffic alert. The 1.5 Hybrid+ ups that with active emergency braking with pedestrian & bicycle detection too.
