Maserati Philippines has marked another milestone in their history as they unveiled their first fully electric offerings: the GranCabrio Folgore convertible and the Grecale Folgore luxury SUV. Both models highlight the brand’s innovation and cutting-edge performance without sacrificing identity.
“Folgore” is Italian for “lightning” and represents the 100 percent electric offerings of the brand moving forward. It also comes with unique design cues like the Rame Folgore copper tones and functional aero details. The side vents under the Folgore badge also have a blue illumination that give the car an electric pulse.
“This isn’t just the unveiling of new models, this is the ignition of a new mindset - where electrification is not a trend, but the future and the future is now here. Maserati leads that vision, combining innovation, sustainability, and unmistakable Italian soul,” said Sam Verzosa, President of Modena Motorsports Inc. the exclusive distributor of Maserati in the Philippines.
The GranCabrio is a fully-electric convertible powered by an 800-volt battery and three 300-kW electric motors (one at the front, two at the rear) that deliver up to 761 horsepower and 1,350 Nm of torque. This sends the GranCabrio from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 290 km/h. It also features technology derived from Formula E like its silicon carbide inverters giving it better energy flow and higher efficiency. It can also travel up to 400 km on a single charge.
The GranCabrio can seat four and opens up in 14 seconds even while in motion. It uses “Econyl” upholstery that’s a kind of breathable fabric with a unique design that adds to the charm of the convertible. There’s a 12.3-touchscreen infotainment system, another screen for the ventilation, and a 12.2-inch screen for the digital gauge cluster. The iconic clock at the center of the dash is configurable and can pop out animations for more information.
Standing taller is the Grecale Folgore that also carries Formula E technology within. It pushes 550 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque with two electric motors and a 105-kWh battery. The Grecale is still fast as it can sprint 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h thanks to its functional vents and aerodynamics. It also has up to 500 kilometers of WLTP range on a single charge.
The Grecale has the same cabin layout and main components as the GranCabrio, accented in more luxury trims. It uses the same Econyl upholstery but can be configured in a myriad of ways. Also available in the Grecale is the Maserati Intelligent Assistant that allows you to remotely adjust cabin temperature, set schedule, and more.
The arrival of the initial Folgore lineup marks the beginning of the rollout of the brand nationwide. They will organize roadshows and bespoke test-drive experiences in key cities. Also arriving soon is the GranTurismo Folgore 110 Anniversario Limited Edition that celebrates 110 years of the brand globally.
