Honda To Re-Start Genuine Spare Parts Supply For Iconic Models

Honda is joining brands such as Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda in offering parts for its last iconic models starting from early 2026. The first one to benefit from the program? The first-generation NSX.

Before this, Honda only continued to supply genuine parts for discontinued vehicles for a fixed amount of time. This meant that as vehicles aged, it became more and more difficult to get genuine parts.

The NSX managed to somewhat circumvent this thanks to the “NSX Refresh Plan” which had been offered by Honda since 1993. That will be phased out this year and will transition instead to a new restoration service using new genuine compatible parts.

Best news is that these genuine compatible parts is not exclusive to Honda’s in-house restoration service. Instead, it will be made available to customers globally who prefer to DIY their NSX, or work with third-party shops. These will be made available starting early 2026.

Honda says their ability to supply genuine parts for older vehicles is thanks to its close work with various business partners and suppliers. Moreover, they credit the advancement of new manufacturing methods including 3D printing as well.

The Japanese carmaker has also confirmed that they will expand both the restoration service and parts availability to cover their other sports-type models including the Prelude, Integra, and S2000.
