Mitsubishi Motors PH Adds New Triton GX AT Variant For P 1.43M

If Metro Manila traffic’s got you wishing that there were more affordable pickup truck variants equipped with an automatic transmission, well, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has just granted you that wish. This 2026, they’ve introduced a new grade for their Triton—the Triton GX, and yes, it’s equipped with an automatic transmission.

Priced at P 1,430,000, the Triton GX sits between the GL (P 1,266,000) and the GLX (P 1,649,000). Yet, what sets the Triton GX apart is that it comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox (as opposed to a 6-speed manual on the GL and GLX).

Powering the Triton GX is the 4N16 with a single-stage turbo. With 2.4 liters of displacement, it offers 183 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 430 Nm of torque from 2,250 to 2,500 rpm.

In terms of looks, the Triton GX gets the revised Triton grille which sees the Dynamic Shield grille getting new diagonal slats (as opposed to horizontal slats before). As a value-oriented variant, it’s modestly equipped with multi-reflector halogen headlights, no front fog lights, and 16-inch silver alloy wheels with 265/70R16 highway terrain tires. Oh, and the bedliner now becomes a dealer option.

Inside, the Triton GX gets an 8-inch touchscreen display audio system with CarPlay and Android Auto as well as USB Type A & C ports. However, it does delete the automatic climate control in favor of a traditional rotary-knob aircon (with no rear vents), simplified gauges with no colored LCD multi-info display, and no cruise control. The lid on the upper glove box has been removed and the driver’s seat doesn’t get height adjustment.

Thankfully, in terms of safety, the Triton GX retains its 3 SRS airbags, ABS, with EBD, vehicle stability control with hill start assist, and a rear parking camera.

  1. Do they have a silver color of this? I just realized na bumagay pala yung mismong color sa mga lower variants ng Triton.

  3. Mitsubishi increased the prices of the Triton GLX,GLS and Athlete variants by around 360,000 Pesos
GX Automatic 4X2 is a great addition to the Triton lineup.

  4. No foglamps for this variant yet the GL already has it. Also, I think it is equipped with 17-inch wheels instead of 18-inch?

  6. Then this would be a direct rival of Ranger XLS in terms of specs and most affordable AT pickup in their lineup
