At P 32.490M, This Range Rover Sport Is Just As Expensive As A Ferrari

You are looking at the most expensive Range Rover model currently available in the Philippines. Just when you thought the Range Rover LWB SV P460e was already pricey at P 25.990-million, nothing will prepare you for the Range Rover Sport SV P635. This one sets you back P 32.490-million, before options. So, what sort of luxury SUV do you get for Ferrari Roma money?

Built around performance, Range Rover Sport SV P635 Edition Two comes packing Range Rover’s most potent engine ever: the mild-hybrid Twin Turbo V8 generates 635 horsepower (hence the P635 designation) and 750 Nm of torque. This helps drop the 0 to 100 km/h time to 3.8 seconds—just as quick as a Ferrari sportscar. Top speed? 290 km/h.

Of course, to put a stop to all that power, it comes with Carbon Ceramic brakes. The “Octyma” front calipers help maximize braking efficiency and minimize wear while cutting weight by as much as 34 kilograms.

The Range Rover Sport SV P635’s weight reduction measures don’t stop there. It’s the first production vehicle to be fitted with 23-inch carbon wheels. This reduces weight by around 41 percent compared to cast alloys. Bespoke Michelin tires—275/40R23 at the front and 305/35R23 at the back help boost lateral acceleration to 1.2 G steady.

Further improving its handling, the Range Rover Sport SV P635’s hydraulic interlinked 6D Dynamics suspension with pitch and roll control for near-level stance even during extreme acceleration, braking, and cornering.

Outside, the bumpers and grille have been resculpted for improved aerodynamics, while also adopting a wraparound skirt, and of course, quad tailpipes with carbon fiber finishers. The same exotic material can be optioned in one of two styles—whether a Satin Forged Carbon Pack or Twill Carbon Fiber Pack. The same style can also be optioned inside. The 16-way powered seats with massagers are finished in contemporary Ultrafabrics or Windsor leather and contain built-in speakers that Range Rover calls Body and Soul Seats (BASS). Like the front seats, the rear seats are also heated and cooled and offer 60/40 power recline capability. Other features include four-zone climate control with built-in purification and Remote Park Assist.

Unique to the Range Rover Sport SV is a new “SV Mode” button on the steering wheel. A short press puts the vehicle into SV Mode, immediately configuring its suspension, powertrain, steering, transmission and active exhaust for maximum performance. A long press opens the Configurable Dynamics menu, where the driver can tailor the dynamic characteristics of Range Rover Sport SV to suit their preferences.

For the Philippine market, the Range Rover Sport SV P635 comes four colors: Blue Nebula, Marl Gray, Sunrise Copper, and Ligurian Black.

The Range Rover Sport SV P635 Edition will be officially launched in the Philippines on May 21.
