Mercedes-Benz PH Plugs In This 2025 With P 4.89M GLC 350e And P 5.49M E 350e

Mercedes-Benz Philippines debuts its pioneering plug-in hybrid line-up, the E-Class Plug-In Hybrid and the GLC Plug-In Hybrid.

Considered a stepping stone towards fully electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids offer improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions compared to traditional combustion engined cars. Moreover, they promise lower running costs and qualify for certain government perks such as number coding exemption.

The E-Class Plug-In Hybrid marks the return of the mid-sized sedan in Mercedes-Benz Philippines’ line-up after it was quietly discontinued some months back. Arriving with the Exclusive exterior package, the E 350e comes with a radiator shell decorated by a central Mercedes star and pattern with trim elements in chrome. The same spattering of chrome is found in the front and rear bumpers, window trim, as well as air inlets and decorative tailpipe trims. At each corner are 19-inch alloy wheels.

Five colors are on offer for the market: Verde Silver, Graphite Gray, Nautic Blue, Obsidian Black, and Polar White.

Inside, the E 350e gains the MBUX Superscreen—the immersive, TikTok-friendly display concept that digitalizes luxury. This combines a 14.4-inch central touchscreen with a 12.3-inch display in the front passenger seat. Both displays are housed under a single glass surface. The visual shield function ensures content on the passenger display remains discreet when the vehicle is in motion, reinforcing the focus on safety and personalization. The driver, meanwhile, also benefits from a heads-up display.

Key luxury features include partial powered “Comfort” seats with heating and ventilation, wireless charging, four-zone automatic climate control, sun blinds, and power closing doors. The standard audio system is the Burmester surround sound system with 17 speakers, 4 exciters, and 730 watts of system power for a “4D” audio experience thanks to Dolby Atmos quality surround sound.

The E 350e PHEV features a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque (it’ll subsequentially be introduced in the base E 200 as well). This is supplemented by a 95 horsepower, 440 Nm electric motor offering a combined output of 313 horsepower and 550 Nm. With a 19.53-kWh usable battery, the all-electric range is pegged at more than 100 kilometers. Charging the E 350e PHEV can be done via a Type 2 AC charging at a rate of up to 11 kW.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350e PHEV retails for P 5,490,000.

As one of the brand’s well-loved SUV models, the GLC 350e PHEV now enters a new era of electrification. Carrying the “Avantgarde” package, it has a sporty exterior also dotted with chrome (including the roof rails). Like the E-Class, the GLC 350e rides on 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the GLC 350e comes with Artico man-made leather seats, the more traditional MBUX infotainment display with a 11.9-inch portrait screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 15-speaker Burmester Surround Sound system. Convenience features include LED headlights with adaptive high beams, a wireless charger, power tailgate, Active Park Assist, and rain-sensing wipers.

Like its combustion engined sibling, which will still be offered as the GLC 200, the GLC 350e offers the largest load compartment in its class. With the rear seats folded flat, it provides up to 1,530 liters of space—perfect for weekend escapes, business trips, or everyday errands. With 470 liters available in cargo position, it proves that functionality and luxury can go hand in hand, every day.

Like the E 350e, the GLC 350e PHEV mates a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a combined 313 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. The battery size is larger in the GLC 350e PHEV at 25.28 kWh. No all-electric range has been specified, but Mercedes-Benz did say “more than 100 kilometers.” Charging can also be done via a Type 2 AC charging at a rate of up to 11 kW.

The GLC 350e is available in Polar White, Verde Silver, Graphite Grey colors with a retail price of P 4,890,000.

  1. Those reflector leds on the GLC really irk me. MB Ph should have optioned it with the projector led ones. Looks really out of place and cheap considering its price point!

  3. It’s the plug in version yet it’s more cheaper than its mild hybrid variant? MB should just discontinue the GLC200
