Petron Adds 5 More EV Charging Station Locations

Around 6 months after the opening of its first Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station at NLEX KM 23 Northbound, Petron has expanded the location of its Petron Power Up EV Chargers to five additional locations.

These locations are strategically located along the expressways heading in and out of Metro Manila, namely the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Tarlac-Pangasinan Expressway (TPLEX), and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

Specifically, the following Petron service stations now have Petron Power Up EV chargers up and running:
  • NLEX KM 23 Northbound
  • NLEX KM 31 Southbound
  • TPLEX KM 134 Northbound
  • TPLEX KM 134 Southbound
  • SLEX KM 44 Northbound
  • SLEX KM 44 Southbound
Petron Power Up accommodates 60-kW DC fast charging using the CCS2 and CHAdeMo connectors. With that, a typical EV can be topped up from 20 to 80 percent in around 40 minutes.

CCS2 is used by the vast majority of EVs available in the Philippines including European and Korean makes, while CHAdeMO is the preferred standard used by Japanese brands such as Nissan and Mitsubishi.

Open 24 hours, Petron Power Up KM 23 NB Marilao, Bulacan charges a rate of P 25 per kWh.

  1. DC charging priced right, aint gonna charge in that overpriced ayala
Considering the Meralco rate is 12php/kwh, hard to justify those high EV charging prices
