There Are Now More Than 10,000 BYDs In The Philippines

BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has reached a milestone in its electrification journey by delivering its 10,000th vehicle in the country. The milestone model, a BYD eMax 7, the brand’s full-electric Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), was purchased and turned over to Adrian Goh, a tech industry executive, last April 30.

To celebrate this landmark achievement, customers who purchase any BYD vehicle this weekend (May 16 to 18, 2025) at any BYD dealership nationwide will be entitled to additional savings and charging coupons from ACMobility.

New BYD customers can save up to P 10,000 on their purchase and receive a P 1,000 charging coupon, while existing BYD customers who purchase another BYD vehicle this weekend can save up to P 20,000 and receive a P 2,000 charging coupon.

“Selling the 10,000th BYD New Energy Vehicle in the Philippines is a milestone that signifies Filipino consumers' trust in the brand,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “Every BYD NEV delivered reflects a customer’s belief in our vision for transformative mobility. This achievement energizes ACMobility and BYD’s drive to lead the country’s electric transformation by offering Filipinos dependable, innovative, and sustainable vehicles supported by services from brands they can rely on,” he continued.

Last year, BYD surprised the industry by selling 4,780 units. Since then, it has grown its lineup from four to ten battery electric and DM-i and DMO models. A rapidly expanding national dealership network, totaling 77 dealerships by the end of 2025, and strong consumer demand for BYD’s accessible and advanced electrified offerings have contributed to the brand’s strong showing in the Philippines.

“It is truly an exceptional achievement for BYD and our partner, ACMobility, to be able to deliver 10,000 New Energy Vehicles in only a little over a year,” shared Aiffy Liu, Country Head of BYD Philippines. “As the Global #1 New Energy Vehicle Brand, Filipinos can expect more cutting-edge NEVs from BYD as we continue to provide the latest in electric vehicle technology, performance, durability, and safety. We thank our customers for their trust in our brand over the past year and for choosing BYD as their smarter, more sustainable mobility solution,” adds Liu.

  1. 77 dealerships not feasible with the current EV infra in PH. Also comrades are now offering more affordable PHEV's and EV's. 10k units less last year sales of 4,700 units = 5,300 units jan-april 2025.

    1. The only infrastructure EV owners really need is a garage to install their own chargers in.

    2. Anony 5:41pm in europe, US, china they have chargers on the roads and everywhere, they can use EV's in long distance travels. Thats why as of now EV's wont sell here well because of limited EV infra.

    3. Change starts at home. Private EV owners should start there before demanding for better public EV infrastructure.

  4. The best way to optimize the savings on EVs is to install a wall charger and invest on solar power. My 2 BYDs and a solar set up saved me P21,000 a month on gasoline and electricity since October 2024. That is a savings of P250,000 in a year or P2M in 8 years which is the warranty period of the vehicles. My solar set-up has a warranty period of 10 years.

    1. What size is your solar installation and how much did it cost to all-in? Grid-linked, stored or hybrid setup?

  5. Its 6kw+6kw inverter set up (2 inverters) with 15kw battery. Its hybrid. Total investment of my 2 BYDs plus solar net of the proceeds of the 2 ICE vehicles I sold is 2.5M. Payback period is 10 years or an ROI of 10% per annum based on savings on gasoline and electricity consumption.

  6. With net metering where I can sell my surplus electricity to the main grid and buy electricity when needed.
