Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, celebrates the graduation of the first batch of cadets from the Kia Technician’s Boot Camp (KTBC), a program designed to equip Filipino technicians with world-class skills. The program sharpens local skills and opens pathways to international careers, including the opportunity for top cadets to compete at the 12th Kia World Skills Cup in Seoul, South Korea, which is set to happen in 2026.

“Through the KTBC program, we’re creating pathways for Filipino technicians to grow their careers locally and globally. This initiative provides them with the essential skills to thrive in an ever-evolving automotive industry and prepares them for leadership roles within Kia’s global network," said Rommel Ramos, Aftersales Director of Kia Philippines.

Launched in September 2024, KTBC provides advanced training in preventive maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and servicing of fuel-powered vehicles, hybrids, and electric vehicles (EVs). The program’s curriculum emphasizes both technical expertise and the development of positive behavior, leadership, and character. This holistic approach ensures that cadets are equipped to deliver exceptional service, excelling beyond technical proficiency.

Conducted at the Kia Training Center in Carmona, Cavite, in partnership with Don Bosco Makati and Batangas State University, the program provides intensive, hands-on training. Graduates are proficient in Kia Diagnostic Systems (KDS) and advanced troubleshooting tools, enabling them to service both traditional and next-generation vehicles.

KTBC integrates international best practices, ensuring technicians are equipped to meet global expectations. High-performing graduates are given the chance to represent the Philippines at the Kia World Skills Cup, a biennial event where technicians from across the globe compete and showcase their skills.

Beyond technical skills, KTBC cadets undergo character formation sessions led by industry leaders from ACMobility, focusing on brand values, professional behavior, and leadership development. Their training includes mastery of service process standards, technical service bulletin interpretation, and advanced diagnostics in areas such as noise, vibration, and harshness.

KTBC provides long-term career opportunities, with fifteen graduates now employed across Kia’s dealership network. Many of these graduates come from underserved communities, now empowered with the skills to take on opportunities both locally and abroad. The second batch of cadets will join KTBC in August 2025, continuing Kia’s commitment to developing top-tier talent for the future of mobility.
