After being revealed in China late last year, the updated Omoda C5 has now gone global. Known as the “Chery C5” in other markets, the Omoda C5 brings an updated design, a bigger luggage space, and enhanced driving dynamics into the mix.
From the outside, the 2025 Omoda 5 gets a new sharper DRL that’s integrated with a black bar that incorporates the Omoda (or in this case, Chery) badge. The love-or-hate-it grille with its trypophobia-inducing pattern has been changed as it cuts out the chrome-studded design for body-colored ones. The front bumper has been reprofiled, while at each corner are new 18-inch alloy wheels with red-colored brake calipers.
In terms of driving dynamics, the 2025 Omoda (Chery) C5 receives a new independent multi-link rear suspension as well as a six-speed dual clutch that replaces the current CVT gearbox. Front acoustic glass further improves its NVH isolation.
Inside, the same basic cabin remains, but engineers were able to carve out a bigger cargo hold growing it to 370 liters.
Available features include dual 10.25-inch screens with wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50-watt device charger, sunroof, power tailgate, and dual zone climate control with rear vents. As for safety, it gets 7 SRS airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a full suite of ADAS.
With Omoda & Jaecoo just starting its retail sales in the Philippines, it’ll take a while for the refreshed Omoda C5 to arrive locally. Expect it to arrive, at the earliest, perhaps by late this year as a 2026 model year refresh.
Oh no, DCT again...
