Chevrolet Spark To Make Philippines Comeback As Mini EV SUV This 2026?

Chevrolet’s Philippine distributor, HARIPhil Asia Resources, Inc., looks to be fulfilling its promise of launching its own fully-electric models, and it could be happening very soon with a very familiar nameplate: the Spark.

Appearing in the Department of Energy (DOE)’s list of recognized electrified vehicles, the Spark EUV is listed with one model variant: the Spark EUV Activ. The Spark should be recognizable to Chevrolet fans in the Philippines as it once was positioned as a sub-B-segment hatchback powered by a modest gasoline engine (read our review of the 2014 Spark).

For 2026, however, HARI will be ditching the combustion engine in favor of an electric motor.

Confirmed in its listing is that the Spark EUV will use a 72 kW (102 horsepower) electric motor and a 41.9-kWh battery.

Matching this with the globally available specs, the Spark EUV will sport 180 Nm of instant torque, while the liquid-cooled battery system will offer up to 360 kilometers of range (NEDC). Likewise, it will support both AC and DC charging, with the former topping the battery up in seven hours, while the latter doing so in 35 minutes (30 to 80 percent).

Also confirmed in its listing are its dimensions—4,003 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, and 1,726 mm in height. This puts the Spark EUV in the same category as A-segment crossovers and SUVs such as the Changan CS15, Kia Sonet, and Toyota Raize. The major difference, of course, is that the Spark EUV will have zero tailpipe emissions. Its green plate also means it’s coding exempt.

Although no features were listed, the Spark EUV does offer cutting-edge features such as LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, a large infotainment system (up to 10.1 inches), and even a 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat.

The Spark EUV is closely related to the Baojun Yep Plus. As a reference, the three-door Yep, is being sold locally for P 1,083,000…so expect pricing of roughly P 1.1-million for the Spark EUV once it launches.

  1. Most likely the Chevrolet Spark EUV Activ is likely be priced at 1.3 Million up to 1.4 Million Pesos making it more expensive than the Baojun based Groove SUV.
I do wish the Captiva PHEV and EV crossover SUV based on the Wuling Starlight S SUV is their next new product.

  2. Chevrolet has lost its spark in the Philippines save for the Corvette.

    1. Hariphil axed the Chevrolet Corvette due to pricing issues.
It'll likely return someday as Hariphil is waiting for the zero tarrifs for made in North America to be signed and passed into law by BBM.
