The 2020 Dodge Challenger Super Stock is the World's Fastest, Most Powerful Muscle Car

The Dodge Challenger is one car built around a single focus: to go fast in a straight line, and the team behind it seems to take it in stride as they’ve unleashed yet another model that’ll decimate the quarter mile. Oh, and it may eat some supercars for breakfast along the way, too.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car. Powered by the same supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 in the Challenger Hellcat and the recently announced Durango Hellcat, the Super Stock’s outputs have been boosted by 10 horsepower to 807 horsepower (Imperial or about 818 PS). The result? 0-100 km/h in about 3.25 seconds, quarter mile at 10.5 seconds, and a 270 km/h top speed—limited by, of all things, the tires.

The boosted engine outputs aside, the Challenger SRT Super Stock also receives upgraded Brembo brakes, a performance-tuned asymmetrical limited-slip differential, and adaptive Bilstein dampers that can help shift as much weight to the rear tires at launch for maximum traction.

The name “Super Stock” is derived from a class of vehicles in drag racing. It’s defined by vehicles that may look like ordinary passenger vehicles, but they are highly modified race cars.

The same can be said for the Challenger SRT Super Stock. While it may look like an ordinary Challenger with no special “Super Stock” badging, it packs the most powerful punch of the Challenger lineup. The giveaway to identifying the SRT Super Stock: the 18-inch-by-11-inch wheels with a Low Gloss Granite finish, riding on massive, sticky 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R drag radials at all four corners. And that’s it.

Unlike the Demon, Dodge says the Challenger SRT Super Stock won’t be a limited run model. It will be made available later this year in the U.S. and will at least continue for the 2021 model year too.
