Jaguar Goes Electric with P 7.590M 2020 I-PACE SUV

Jaguar Philippines goes electric with the launch of the I-PACE SUV. The all-electric I-PACE is Jaguar’s entry into the EV segment and takes a clean sheet approach, particularly with its engineering.

Using a unique architecture that takes advantage of battery electric technology, it’s able to optimize performance, aerodynamics, and interior space.

The I-PACE is powered by two Jaguar-designed electric motors placed at each axle. The driveshafts pass through the motors themselves for compactness, and together, produce 400 horsepower and 696 Nm of torque. With the battery placed centrally between the two axles, it also boasts of a 50/50 weight distribution. 0-100 km/h takes just 4.8 seconds.

In terms of battery, the I-PACE packs a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery delivering a range of 470 kilometers. Charging from zero using the bundled 7-kW charger takes 12 hours and 48 minutes. The battery comes with its own 8-year / 160,000-km warranty.

The EV aluminum architecture uses advanced riveting and bonding technology to deliver a light, stiff structure. Together with the battery back which is structural, it has the highest torsional rigidity of any Jaguar to date.

Influenced by supercar design, the Jaguar I-PACE features a short, low hood, aero-enhanced roof, and curved rear glass. Co-efficient of drag is just at 0.29. However, to optimize between cooling and aero performance, active vanes in the grille open and close as needed.

The I-PACE units coming to Manila will be future-proof and will be equipped with the latest upgrades. It will sport 11-kW on-board charger to allow faster charging in the future and the new Pivi Pro infotainment system, which is created to be as intuitive and easy to use as a smartphone.

As Jaguar’s first EV, the I-PACE has been well-received globally. It’s the most decorated production car (of any powertrain type) in modern history receiving 62 international awards in its first year. This includes the European Car of the Year, World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Green Car the Year.

The Jaguar I-PACE is priced at P 7.590M and comes with a Type 2 7-kW wall charger (installation costs not included). Customers can also purchase additional chargers for P 105,000 (installation not included). Deliveries will start by late 2020 to early 2021.
