JAC PH is Launching a Turbocharged Crossover, the 2021 S4 for Less than P 880k (w/ Specs)

The compact crossover segment is about to get even more competitive as Triesenburg Auto Corp. (TAC), the official distributor of JAC passenger and light commercial vehicles in the Philippines will be launching its very own turbocharged offering—the 2020 JAC S4.

Competing in the same segment populated by the likes of the Geely Coolray, MG ZS, as well as the Hyundai Kona and Kia Seltos, the JAC S4 offers buyers a chance not to settle for a vehicle with lesser specs just because of their budget, especially given the current pandemic and economic situation.

Penned by JAC’s team in Turin and Tokyo, the S4 adopts the brand’s new styling language including the large “wing” grille and sharply drawn headlights. Inside, it has a simple yet fashionable interior design.

The 2021 JAC S4 will arrive in three variants—the Luxury, Intelligent, and Ultimate. Regardless of trim, they are all powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. It makes 147 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 210 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. And unlike its competition, it will be offered in both a 6-speed manual or CVT guise.

The Luxury MT and CVT come with LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, electronic parking brake, and cruise control as standard.

Moving up to the Intelligent adds courtesy lamps, one-touch windows for all passengers, leather seats with power adjust for the driver, automatic climate control, tire pressure sensors, and a 360-degree camera as well as a 10.25-inch infotainment display with 6 speakers.

Finally, with the Ultimate, power moonroof, power tailgate, full digital instrumentation, and rear AC vents become standard. Interestingly, this version also adds advanced driver assist technology such as lane departure warning, front collision warning, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert as standard equipment.

Available in six colors, the 2021 JAC S4 is available at the following prices:
  • 2021 JAC S4 Luxury 6MT – P 878,000
  • 2021 JAC S4 Luxury CVT – P 928,000
  • 2021 JAC S4 Intelligent CVT – P 998,000
  • 2021 JAC S4 Ultimate CVT – P 1,098,000

The JAC S4 will be launched officially via TAC’s official JAC Motors Philippines Facebook page on Sunday, July 5 at 6 PM.

The online event is going to be graced by personalities from JAC Motors International namely, Davide Zhang (General Manager), Kong DeXing (Head of JAC Overseas Automobile Research Institute), Brian Li (Head of JAC Design Center).

Davide Zhang will talk about JAC Motors International as a company and its future plans. Kong DeXing will elaborate on the technology behind the JAC S4. While Brian Li, will discuss the design inspiration and how the JAC S4 was conceptualized.

From the TAC Side, Dan Rudolph Navarro, Group General Manager, handle the product reveal and the JAC S4’s overall promise.
